Firefly Imageworks is owned and operated by D.J. Glisson, II and based in Colonial Heights,Virginia. A 2006 college graduate, Glisson obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Nazarene College where he majored in communications. While there, he had the opportunity to serve as Editor-in-Chief of the student newspaper as well as Publicity Director of Student Government, a small but important part of a resume containing over 20 years experience in creative media.

Beginning with the design of a T-shirt at the age of five, his passion for creative artistry continued through the years and would rarely be seen without a pencil and a piece of paper featuring an elaborate doodle. Around age 18, his artistic talents turned toward the advantages of computers, as he longed to professionally color his hand-drawn creations. He quickly became acclimated to professional graphic design applications and was soon employed as a graphic designer in a full-time capacity at a print shop in Colonial Heights, VA. Before long, this passion for illustration and graphic design would offshoot into interests in web design and photography, which were quickly cultivated into professional grade skill sets as well. These, coupled with a knack for writing, advertising, and public relations, ultimately led to the establishment of Firefly Imageworks, a company founded to offer these services with the professional touch demanded by today’s diverse and demanding marketplace and the personal touch needed to develop effective, friendly working relationships with clientel.

Accolades Glisson has earned include an award for editorial cartooning by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association and the 2003-04 ENC Community Impact Award; the latter for his artistic and leadership contributions to the college community, specifically in the area of media.

The future is bright, as Glisson is continually seeking out and incorporating new technologies to add to Firefly’s long list of creative avenues. Currently pursuing film, film editing, and special effects techniques, this passion for providing a full arsenal of professional services for clients promises to keep Firefly Imageworks on the cusp of these highly creative, technical, and demanding fields.
